Discovering Tunisia: A Journey Through History, Culture, and Nature
My Tunisian adventure began in the vibrant city of Sfax, a city rich in history and culture. I checked into the comfortable Business Hotel Sfax, eager to explore the city's treasures.

Day 1: Sfax - A Cultural Immersion
The following morning, I embarked on a guided tour of the Médina de Sfax, a site that is on its way to become an UNESCO World Heritage Site . The narrow, winding streets were filled with colorful shops, bustling markets, and ancient mosques. Of course, I couldn't help myself and I bought some nice handmade rugs and spices.

The intricate architecture and the warm hospitality of the locals were truly captivating. We enjoyed a guided tour and learned so much about the Tunisian history, how the city of Sfax came to life and its cultural importance and significance, integrated in the world history.

For lunch, I indulged in a delicious meal at Dar Baya, a traditional guest house known for its authentic Sfaxian cuisine. The flavors were simply divine, and the ambiance was perfect for a leisurely lunch.
In the afternoon, I visited Mme Rekik, a renowned Sfaxian pastry shop. I participated in a workshop where I learned the secrets of making traditional Tunisian pastries. It was a hands-on experience that allowed me to connect with the local culture on a deeper level.
In the evening, we took a boat trip to the enchanting Kerkennah Islands.

Day 2: Kerkennah Islands - A Slice of Paradise
We woke up in the beautiful Manaret Kerkennah guesthouse, its everylasting charm offered a perfect blend of comfort and local traditions. The food is absolutely out of this world, and I hope that I'll be able to come back one day to spend an entire day at the pool. So relaxing !

Kerkennah Island
I spent the day exploring, taking a boat ride to admire the coastline from the sea, and enjoying a delicious lunch of fresh seafood grilled on the spot. The simplicity of life on the islands was truly inspiring.
We ended the afternoon with a visit to the Abassia Kerkena Museum, where I learned about the rich history and culture of the Kerkennah Islands. The museum showcased traditional artifacts, photographs, and exhibits that provided insights into the daily lives of the islanders.

As the sun began to set, I made my way to the Borj El Hissar, an ancient archaeological site that offered breathtaking views of the sunset over the sea. It was a truly magical moment.

Day 3: Kerkennah - A Day of Nature and Tradition
On my final day in Kerkennah, I participated in a tree-planting initiative, contributing to the preservation of the island's natural beauty.
I also visited a traditional atelier shop, where I could try on traditional clothing from the region.
Day 4: Tunis - A Glimpse of the Past and Present
My Tunisian adventure concluded in the vibrant city of Tunis. I explored the historic Médina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that showcased the rich cultural heritage of North Africa. The narrow alleyways, colorful souks, and ancient mosques transported me back in time.

We explored the city and the Medina of Tunis all day, savouring street food, admiring local crafts and shops in the souk, enjoying a perfume workshop and for lunch, we went in the popular area of Sidi Bou Saïd.
Eating with a stunning view at Café des Délices marked the end of a perfect day.
This trip to Tunisia was an unforgettable journey through history, culture, and nature. The warm hospitality of the Tunisian people, the stunning landscapes, and the rich cultural heritage made it an experience I will cherish forever.
